Brother Mohammed And Whaslit Kher

Mohammed, the Sole Provider for a Family of Eight, and the Whaslit Kher Foundation

Whaslit Kher means The Hand of God. Whaslit Kher is a charitable and educational organization founded and managed by Mohammed, older brother of Allaa (one of Impossible Light’s founders). Mohammed was evacuated in March 2024 and now resides in Cairo, where he established this modest initiative to support displaced families from Gaza.

Through generous donors, he has provided food, clothing, rent assistance, and some furniture for unfurnished apartments to thousands of Gazan refugee families. However, for the past three months, he has struggled to find new donation sources. As a result, he decided to turn to his primary expertise—teaching. He taught high school in Gaza for yearas. So, in January of this year, he opened a learning center in a modest apartment in Cairo, offering affordable educational services for displaced elementary and high school students from Gaza. The small fees collected help cover the rent of the space.

Over the past two months, he secured a donation from a kind individual to provide classroom seating for the students. The quality of education at the center has been improving rapidly, and student enrollment has exceeded expectations. The number of students has now reached 150, while the staff, including teachers and support workers, has grown to 25. In reality, they should be called volunteers, as they receive only symbolic payments from the minimal student fees.

Mohammed is struggling to secure proper salaries for the teachers and staff and is also facing challenges due to the small and overcrowded space, which is insufficient for the rapidly growing number of students.

We are directing kind souls to support Waslit Kher’s teaching of these children.

Why give?

We place our hope in you, our friends, and in our collective ability to support Mohammed in uplifting these children and advancing their education. By doing so, we give them the tools to transcend their suffering and become our partners in creating a more just and joyful world.

Our goal is to expand our efforts to support children everywhere, even with the simplest resources. This will be a lasting good deed—one that lives on and on.
