Glasses!

One day, I (Allaa) received a message from Mohammed. A child named Ahmed (photo to the right) had made a request. Mohammed sent me a video of Ahmed, showing me how his broken glasses were held together with a wire. I could see in his face that he was struggling to ask for something, but he truly hoped for a new pair of glasses. Without hesitation, I shared his request with the closest and kindest people I know—those who love children just as much as I do: the rest of the Impossible Light team. Together, we immediately made sure Ahmed got his glasses. Seeing his excitement and joy at achieving his goal was beautiful.

Ahmed inspired us to create a project to reach more children who need glasses, and from that moment we worked with our team on the ground to help more children. We received a very great emotional response from these children and it’s really was beyond words to describe.

But nothing compared to the happiness of Eileen, a beautiful little girl who also needed glasses. After witnessing Ahmed’s pure reaction, we decided to do more—to help other children in need of glasses. That’s when we received Eileen’s request. In the video on the right, you can watch her reaction when she finally got her new glasses—one of the most beautiful moments ever.

Many children have since received glasses, along with other essential needs.
