Eid event- toys giveaway
Eid al-Fitr is here…
The beauty of visits between friends and family, the way people celebrate and show love and care for one another, are among the most special and cherished moments that make these days meaningful for families. As we always say, the most beautiful part of these families is their children. During these days, you see children dressed in their Eid clothes, each of them having inevitably received their Eid gift—usually a toy suited to their age. They run around with other children, playing with pure joy, caring for nothing else but the excitement and happiness that fills these festive days.
However, in Gaza, things can be a little different. Families still share these traditions and celebrations, but many lack the means to fully host and enjoy these gatherings as they wish. Parents, aware of the difficult circumstances, may accept that this year’s Eid will not be the same. But what a heartbreaking challenge it is to explain to a child that they won’t be receiving an Eid toy this year, that they won’t be running around with the other children who, in one way or another, have managed to get one. The joy of Eid might not even reach them, as the usual festive scenes are absent due to destruction and lack of resources.
In response, our team is launching an initiative to bring the joy of Eid to children in refugee camps, ensuring they receive toys and experience the happiness of the holiday. This will be carried out in coordination with individuals who specialize in organizing activities for children, making sure they have the best possible experience despite the hardships of war. Our goal is to remind these children that life is not impossible, even in the midst of fear and destruction. We want to keep their dreams and joy alive.
Despite the suffering and pain, we will see our children playing, laughing, and enjoying the special days of Eid. We want them to hold onto this experience—not as a memory of hardship alone, but as a time filled with happiness, play, and a moment of relief.
More than 260 children enjoyed this event.
